Lord, you are my lover,
My longing,
My flowing stream,
My sun,
And I am your reflection.

*Mechtild of Magdeburg, Beguine Mystic, 13th Century CE

Meet me, where the river meets the sea,
naked now, innocent and free

Adoration is a reminding of ourselves that we are recipients of a silent Grace in many different forms. We can focus on what we seem to lack and, thereby, be led to ingratitude and lessening of Love for our Beloved of the Heart, and others. However, adoration is a heartful means of expressing thankfulness to Grace for what we have been given and, likewise, praise of the nature of the Beloved. Adoration fans the Flame of Love. How do we adore the Beloved? By adoring the Sacred in anyone or anything. All adoration is worship, and the One Beloved is in whom and what summons forth our reverence and expression of Love. Therefore, to adore you, I adore the Beloved, for you are one with the Beloved, and you and the Beloved are One.

Only now and again a sadness fell upon me,
and I started up from my dream and felt a sweet trace
of a strange fragrance in the south wind.

That vague sweetness made my heart ache with longing
and it seemed to me that it was the eager breath
of the summer seeking for its completion.

I knew not then that it was so near,
that it was mine, and that this perfect sweetness
had blossomed in the depth of my own heart.

Stop...
Relax...
Be Silent...
Breathe in "LOVE"...
Breathe out "JOY"...
Breathe in "PEACE"...
Breathe out, smiling, "THANK YOU"...

Find that place
which is effortlessly
at rest within itself.
Be there—be One with That.
